Enabling Automatic e-MTA Submissions in Invoq

How to grant Invoq machine-to-machine access in e-MTA, so it can submit your VAT (KMD) returns once you approve them.

This guide walks you through granting Invoq machine-to-machine access in e-MTA, so Invoq can submit your VAT (KMD) returns directly to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board once you approve them.

Before you start

  • You need e-MTA access to the company you want to connect, with the right to submit VAT (KMD) returns yourself. If you're not sure whether you have this, check under Settings → Access permissions before continuing (see Step 3).
  • Have Invoq's registry code on hand: 17470419 (Invoq OÜ).

Step-by-step

  1. Log in to e-MTA at emta.ee using your ID-card, Mobile-ID, Smart-ID, or bank authentication.

  2. If you represent more than one company, select the company you want to connect to Invoq.

  3. Go to Settings → Access permissions, and confirm you have permission to submit VAT (KMD) returns for this company. Without this, you won't be able to grant Invoq access, and someone with the right permissions (e.g. a board member) will need to grant it to you first.

  4. On the same page, click "New access permission" — the button is in the top right of the Access permissions of representatives page.

  5. Under "Search for person," enter 17470419 in the "Personal identification code or registry code" field and click Search. Select Invoq OÜ from the results, tick the checkbox next to it, and continue to the next step.

  6. In "Adding of access permissions," find and select the package "Sending data by machine-to-machine interface (KMD, TÖR)" (code XT_MM), then save. This package grants both VAT return (KMD) and Employment Register (TÖR) submission rights.

Note. This access is granted as a single package that covers both VAT return (KMD) and Employment Register (TÖR) submissions (codes XT_MM_KMD and XT_MM_TÖR). e-MTA doesn't let you grant one without the other, but Invoq will only ever use it to submit VAT returns.

What happens next

Once the permission is saved, Invoq is authorized to submit VAT returns for your company. From here, just process your monthly invoices in Invoq as usual — when a return is ready, you can send it straight to e-MTA from within Invoq, with no manual re-entry needed.
